About the Scholarship:

In 2007 the Bainbridge Island-North Kitsap Interfaith Council began awarding each year a monetary scholarship to a graduating high school senior who has been active within one of the IFC-affiliated faith groups. Seniors are nominated by their faith group, and a committee appointed by the IFC selects the recipient. This year the scholarship to be presented will be worth approximately $500.

The Bainbridge Island-North Kitsap Interfaith Council Scholarship is given in memory of Bob Satterwhite from the First Church of Christ, Scientist who gave so much of his energy and time to the Interfaith Council.

Criteria:

  • High school student who is graduating in the 2022-23 school year
  • Active in a faith group that is a member of the Bainbridge Island-North Kitsap Interfaith Council
  • Has demonstrated a commitment to one or more of the purposes of the IFC (Article II: Purposes of the IFC Bylaws):https://binkinterfaith.org/

Nomination and Selection Process:

  • All faith groups that are members of the IFC may each nominate one graduating senior (of any Kitsap area high school) from their community.

  • In the letter please explain how your senior has been active within your community and in what ways he/she/they has demonstrated a commitment to one or more of the IFC purposes.
  • Nominations are due by May 22, 2023.
  • The selection committee will meet in late May to make a selection.
  • The student selected will be invited with her/his/their family to the year-end IFC meeting on Thursday, June 7nd to receive the scholarship. The award will be announced at the IFC Baccalaureate on June 11.
