
Activities ongoing to support refugees
Bethany Lutheran has been coordinating the collection of household goods to be distributed through Lutheran Refugee and Resettlement. Bethany has a list of needed goods. Contact is Richard Heine. Bethany’s refugee committee is now meeting monthly, the first Sunday of each month at 11:00 am, at Bethany Lutheran Church.
Eagle Harbor Congregational Church has assisted Bethany in the collection of household goods. EHCC has also voted as a congregation to get involved in political advocacy action The contact is Barbara Chrisman.
World Relief is staging a cross-state bicycle trek to raise money for refugees. It beings from Kent on June 10, 2016 and travels to Spokane via the TriCities (it’s known as the STK). Details here: http://worldreliefseattle.org/STK

The Bainbridge Island Inclusion squad held a pillowcase decorating party beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 24, at Eagle Harbor Congregational Church, 105 Winslow Way West. The pillowcases, in support of the #GiveRefugeesRest campaign, were displayed at EHCC during the Bainbridge art walk on Friday, Feb. 5.
