Showing Kindness to All

At our November 6th IFC meeting Eve Palay presented a preview for the Transgender Day of Remembrance, see our event calendar for November 16. The remembrance is to provide welcoming to the spirits of those who found too little welcome in their lives.

It was noted that the current Administration removed option 3 from the suicide hotline which provided a quick link to responders that are trained in LGBTQ issues. various studies show 10 to 20% of suicides are LGBTQ. It was noted we should be adding options like 4 and 5 for other high risk groups and not removing options. Please do what you can to help bring back option 3, it could save the life of someone you know, or more likely one of their children.

it so sobering to know that the elevated suicide rate for LGBTQ is normalized when LGBTQ souls have a loving and supporting family and friend network and when they can receive medical care. Showing kindness to all is a simple thing that can a have huge impacts on all those we come in contact with. Please continue to let your light shine to light the way and warm those you come in contact with.
